What: Citizens to Elect Zachary Moses for Governor, and the Flip 7 Committee are announcing the launch of Version 2.1 of the open source canvassing software HelloVoter. The changes to the software were in response to the unprecedented changes made to Utah’s local political primaries due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Volunteers at the Moses for Governor campaign have worked around the clock, to help program the latest features into this open source tool. The goal is to make it as easy as possible for campaign volunteers to reach voters. The Moses campaign is offering free server space and access to voter precinct data to all down ballot candidates and activists in Utah, free of charge during COVID-19.
Version 2.1 of HelloVoter includes a new phone banking feature, which enables the campaign staff and volunteers to reach out directly to delegates and registered voters. The Moses for Governor campaign and the Flip 7 Committee are committed to a free and open democracy. Making the tools free of charge to any candidate, is intended to show their commitment to be as democratic as possible, especially in situations like the COVID-19 quarantine.
“We are extremely excited to strengthen our commitment to supporting down ballot candidates with tools at no cost. These tools will help us win more elections for Democrats and other candidates with new ideas in Utah,” said Zachary Adam Moses, a Democratic candidate for Governor. He faces a primary at the new All-Remote-Democratic-Convention, on April 25th. “We have provided voter data to several candidates already and we are happy to be providing this new phone banking feature. Candidates need all the help they can get. With volunteers suddenly working from home, we need to adapt quickly, to be productive in this era of Corona Virus.”

Candidates that we are helping to get elected in 2020, now have a vital tool, that is free,” said Alan Naumann, Chair of the Flip 7 Committee, a new Political Action Committee (PAC) devoted to winning seats in the Utah House of Representatives for Democrats. “We thank the Moses for Governor campaign for their commitment to helping down ballot candidates win this year.”
