e-and-z-in-florida-smallEvery summer I used to spend my days in Florida. I worked as a beach attendant. The beach service was a little Mom and Pop company called SeaOats. We put out chairs and umbrellas, hammocks and kayaks. We would arrange them neatly every morning at 6:30 a.m. on the beautiful sugar sand that was overlooked by dunes that were covered in Oats and Rosemary. When the tourists came wandering down to the beach, it looked like a paradise wonderland.

For three years this was my summer, not a care in the world.

Life’s wonderful when you work on a beach.

We’d talk philosophy, and flirt with the girls. “Advertise” the surf boards or sail boats, by surfing or sailing on them. I’m telling you, it’s the life.

Why am I not there now?

That is an excellent question.

I guess I have a soft spot for shoveling snow.

Fixing other people’s broken and or overflowing toilets… really appeals to me.

I suppose, nothing brings me more joy, then using a tanning bed( so that my veins stop looking like worms crawling around under my skin.)

Yep, there’s nothing quite like working really hard all summer long to get the house ready for winter. *sigh*
